The Rides

The 31th Annual Old Kentucky Home Bicycle Tour, (aka OKHT), is a two-day ride departing from E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville on Saturday, September 6th, with three mileage routes to historic Bardstown, Ky.

A 50-mile, 72-mile, and very challenging 102-mile century, which includes the legendary Pottershop Hill, and is the winner of the League of American Bicyclists Best Century 2000 award.

On Sunday, September 7th, there is also a 25 or 50-mile single-day loop that goes out to the famous Cookie Stop SAG and then returns to the ride start along with the 2-day riders. All other routes overnight in Bardstown and return via a gorgeous 55-mile route on Sunday.

The Old Kentucky Home Tour is a beautiful bike tour through scenic, rolling hills in rural Kentucky, fully supported with fixed and roving sags.

Price of registration includes bagels and coffee Saturday morning, Saturday lunch, Sunday morning breakfast, plus ample food and drink at the many SAG stops along the way. Our tour is famous for our Cookie Stop on Sunday, where sampling the homemade cookies, of all kinds, is an endurance sport in itself. (All riders are invited and encouraged to bring cookies for the cookie stop). Sunday's ride also features a post-ride pizza party at Sawyer Park.

In Bardstown, we offer a number of activities and entertainment options including a yoga class under the trees sponsored by Baptist East/Milestone Wellness Center, , carriage rides around Bardstown sponsored by Byerly Ford , free massages, live entertainment and discounted Bardstown-area tours. Check here for more info on activities. Many fine restaurants are also available in Bardstown for those spending the night.

Overnight accommodations include motels and B&Bs. Free gymnasium or tent camping with hot showers are also available at the overnight ride headquarters. Drop off your bags at the shuttle truck Saturday morning and pick them up at the tour HQ in Bardstown that afternoon.

Shuttle buses run a scheduled route Saturday evening and Sunday morning to and from the ride HQs - to our designated motels.
